Remember that I showed you this unusual storage cabinet last Friday as an inspiration for you to bypass your conventional notion of what ‘matches’ and what doesn’t?
I promised that I would come back with some extra unusual kitchen storage ideas, that would help you to do away with even more traditional design rules and notions of what constitute proper storage.
Wild & Wicked Dutch Design
Let me introduce you today to the Dutch designer Duo Tejo Remy & Rene Veenhuizen. Anti-Ikea heros.
Like their idea of cabinet storage space? It sure is unusual, and it’s 100% upcycled. The pile of drawers is held together/reinforced by a huge rope around them all, creating effectively an egg-shaped or tree-shaped cabinet design. I’m sure that the drawers are also glued together, as well as stacked in a way of perfect balance.
This storage cabinet deserves white space around it ~ like any good work of art ~ for it to work in our kitchen or living room. It sure is a conversation piece.

I can imagine an all white or mirrored drawers version of these appearing in my house. In its current mix-match state they look delicious, however, it will be too busy for our humble abode.
How about you?
Do these inspire you?
Are you gonna make them?
I’d love to see your version of this cabinets. When you do, Link them up at our weekly DIY Linky Party, every Wednesday.
