My Design Story
I took this superb yarn for a hat design project with me on vacation to Madrid last week. Only to realise that this 1 skein was not going to be enough for what I originally had in mind. It has become too big and belaboured. So I frogged it all but the rim, and make a new design from scratch.
While I took over a week to work on the original beret idea, this diamond beanie design just 'roll off' the press with nothing but pure joy and ease. I needed this to be a fast project (with just little vacation time left), so I created the easiest-ever diamond stitch pattern which decreases slightly towards the crown. I think it looks grand and royal from all sides. Loads of texture and interest. Really unique but ever so easy to create.
Designed, knit, finished and photos made and pattern written - in just two days. Yes. I did it. Best of all, since I opted for simple but impactful features, you too will be able to finish this hat in an evening or two.
