This is Day 2 of Strawberry week: Learn How to Make Crochet Strawberries.
Yesterday, we featured strawberry bead earrings. Today, we’re giving away a free pattern for crochet strawberries. Plus, I’ve added 2 strawberry knitting patterns, just in case crocheting is not your game. Whether knit or crochet-ed, these strawberries are super-cute.

Strawberry Crochet Pattern
Crochet strawberries make fun necklace pendants, key fobs, or embellishments to kitchen decoration, such as tea cozies, pot holders, etc.

How to Crochet a Strawberry – Free Pattern
Strawberry Body
In red yarn:
increase:

Round 2: ch 2,*2 hdc in first stitch, hdc in following st, repeat from * sl st to close round (8)

decrease:
Round 6: ch 2, * decrease by hdc in 2 st together, hdc, hdc, repeat from *, st st to close round (11)
stuff the strawberry. I tend to use old, holey socks, but you can use kapok or other filling.

Leaves & Stem
In green yarn:
ch 4, turn work
going backwards: sl st., sc, 2 dc.
This is one leaf.
repeat 4 times,
and vary the chain length from ch 4 to ch 6.
You now have a ring of leaves.
Bring the thread towards the center of your work to make the stem:
ch 7, turn work
dc in each st.

Cut the thread after a few inches (see picture).
The section that is facing you in the center is going to be the stem.

Pull this thread through this section pulling the stitches from the left and the right of the stem together. (see picture)
Putting your Strawberry Together
Place the green leaves on top of the red strawberry and stitch it together with a few stitches.
Final Touches
To make your strawberry look more realistic, use some thin yarn or double embroidery and mark a few seeds on the strawberry.
Done.
