This Week’s Party Feature

Pili shared her beautiful and unique upcycled kitchen cabinet door – upcycle. She transformed this old cabinet door into a lovely French vintage rack for towelettes, necklaces, or… (to be decided). I love the pastel colors she chose and the fine detailing. Inspiring, isn’t it?!

How to do this DIY French Vintage Kitchen Cabinet Makeover

So easy!

  1. Painted the cabinet with DIY chalk paint, so no sanding is required. Do 2 layers on all the parts except the centre.
  2. One layer is enough in the central part. You’ll need just enough paint for the glue to stay in place.
  3. While your paint is drying, printed your feature image and cut to the size you need.
  4. Once the paint is fully dried, mix some white glue with water in a bowl Your mix should be ‘not thick nor watery’.
  5. Apply your glue mix with a brush where you’d like your central image to go.
  6. Then I placed the print there and press with a plastic bag to remove any air bubbles and avoid damaging the image.
  7. Distress the borders of your cabinet door, wax it all and add some coats of varnish onto the print. Add some pretty hanging tags and done!

This definitely is a very successful decoupage project, and with these instructions, you can make your own.
