Today’s inspirational quote from Thoreau (free download) is for someone special, for a fellow blogger. I have been following her blog, and life, for 5 years, and she needed to hear some uplifting words on the topic of the ‘free to be authentic’ today.
The message in this poem is most important, and comes from a little book by Thoreau called ‘Walden‘. Do you know it? Do you remember this passage?
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away. — Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)
I was first given this quote and its suggestion ‘to go my own way’ when I was 16. The plaque has been in my life since. Needless to say, the background image has become oh-so-dated. but I know, it will one day be hip again, ha ha. As also paper on which this quote is written has become tarnished, I decided to make a whole new plaque for you to hang on your wall. Maybe it’s a great quote to hang above the bed of your teenager, or as an embroidery pattern for a pillow in her bedroom. Or maybe it’s for you.
Free downloadable quote plaque: click image to find the larger size to print. When printed, the artwork is about 5 x 5 inches, with a 240 dpi. You can resize it to any dimension you want, of course.
