Happy Mothersday, all! Today, I thought to share with you my gift I receive this morning at Mothersday brunch! Such a lovely display box. I promised to keep ‘pretty things’ in it, and the first thing I found to display was something I made a few years back: this gorgeous 3- layered crochet flower – pattern for you below.

Layered Crochet Flower Pattern
Layer 1 – in pale pink thick cotton yarn
Make a magic loop. Crochet 11 hdc. Sl st into the first hdc. Pull your yarn through to the back and work your tails to center, as you’ll use these to fasten this top layer.
Layer 2 – in bright red lightly thinner cotton yarn:
Make a magic ring. * make ch 7 and sl st into the loop; Repeat from * to make 6 petals, * sl st into the first st of the first petal. Row 1: sc, 2 hdc, 4dc, 2hdc, 1sc, sl st (this makes 1 petal). Repeat for each petal.
Layer 3 – in red yarn at the center and bright pink outer:
Work on the back side of layer 2: * make ch 9 and sl st into the loop; Repeat from * to make 6 petals, * 2 sl st into the first st of the first petal. Row 1: sc, 2 hdc, 4dc, 2hdc, 1sc, 2 sl st (this makes 1 petal). Repeat for each petal. Row 2: with bright pink, sc all around, but in the top st of each petal: sc, hdc, sc. Sl st to close the work.

Optional: ch 11 in pink and secure it on the back of the centre of the flower. This transforms your flower into a key chain fob.

Work yarn tails towards the centre and secure all layers together. Depending on how you plan to use your flower, neatly work away all tails.
Enjoy.
Happy Mothers Day.
