Minimalist Nail Art Design
This diagonal mani is so simple, anyone can try it!
Yes, it’s a teenage craft! Kids are amazing these days. In case you think that I’m crazy….. You would not expect the hands in the pictures below to be of a 12 year old, would you?! On top of that, she designed the nail mani herself. She figured out the how to by going to YouTube. And then made the photos of her diagonal duotone nail manicure herself as well! What a difference from the time that I was 12… I hadn’t quite reached that stage of being a ‘teenager’ yet at that time. I sure was still a kid, and nail polish was meant for grown-ups only. If you were lucky, you could play with it when you were 16 to go to a party.

How to Create this Easy Diagonal Mani Design
Step 1: Prep your nails by applying an undercoat of clear polish that nourishes your nails
Step 2: Paint your nails one of the two colors you wish for your manicure.
Step 3: Let it dry. Like an hour or more. This is important.
Step 4: Cut 10 pieces of Scotch tape (some people use masking tape) and apply these diagonally across your nails, in the direction of the diagonal line you are after.
Step 5: Apply a layer of nail lacquer on the visible part of the nail. When done, remove the tape. Let it dry properly, and apply a top coat.
Easy Diagonal Mani Design Tip: if you want to go really fancy, add a metallic nail art strip right over the diagonal line. This will bring instant glamour (and hide any irregularities on the line where the two colors meet. Do this step before applying your top coat as you want the top coat to protect the total nail art design.
Mani Color Tip:
Use either complementary colors that have the same level of brilliance, or use shades of the same color to create the effect that you are after.
