10 Top DIY Free Craft Tutorials
I thought to showcase for you my top 10 favorite DIY & craft tutorials that have been entered into the Fine Craft Guild DIY Tutorial linky parties so far.
Here they are.
DIY Log Table
In Canada I saw a lovely designer log table, that is still in my mind. It was painted glossy bright red, which contrasted deliciously with the natural shape of the wood. I recall it cost several thousand dollars.
So, when I saw this table, I was instantly reminder that I love this table.
Fabulous bench (made from ugly phone table)
What I particularly love about this bench is how it reuses 100% recycled materials, and how it is such a huge aesthetic transformation.
How to use Texture Paste to make lovely craft finishes
Why I chose this: This is good example of the kind of tutorial we are after for our linky party: Full of what to do, and what not to do, honest. It comes from the kitchen table or craft room, spurring on creativity and trial in others, and setting them up for success.
Personally I used gesso, sand and texture paste in my artwork, and this tutorial was a lovely reminder to get back to it as it sure makes for professional-looking artistic flair.
Ruffled Flower Rag Quilt Pattern
The free downloadable quilt pattern is actually here
This is a gorgeous quilt. This 1 Woman freely shares part of her base pattern (with tips and hints) on how to make rag quilts.
I think is very generous since making quilts seems to be her livelihood. Once you have this one down pat, you can venture out and make others.
4th of July Home Decor Crafts
I could swear that I saw a how-to tutorial here when I visited this site before, and I loved the simplicity of it: take the blocks, paint them blue, sand them down and add simple vinyl letters. (#ad) Or, use your Cricut or Silhouette machine if you have one.
I love this 4th of July celebration and also the notion of this blog owner of creating ‘vignettes’ one one’s home. Very clever.
by Stone Creek Market
Stamped Washer Masculine Personal Accessories for Dads by Girl in AirI like the current stamped silver jewelry craze for women. This is the masculine version.
Why I chose this:
Well, how can I not?! It’s fluttery and frivolous. A seemingly* innocent mobile to hang near a baby’s bed.
* TIP: I am always very weary with things (like this) hanging above the baby bed for safety reasons. I would not want to have sturdy fishing line accidentally dropping into my baby’s bed. However, it is very cute, and you can quite possibly hang it safely near the crib where the baby can see it.
Jersey knit flowers by A Little Lovely Blog(https://alittlelovelyblog.blogspot.com/2010/05/jersey-knit-flowers.html)Why I chose this:i can see these flowers used completely differently rather than in a vase with sticks. How I will use them, will be a surprise I’ll share on the blog with you in some future time.
The tutorial is really easy and simple, so I now have a reference on how to make them in my links library.
Heads Up, Everyone!
