Top 5 of the Party

Creative solutions, beautiful crafts, and gorgeous DIY executions. That sums up last week’s Linky Party.  Sounds good in general, but the TOP 5  featured  projects I have for you today, are truly original.  What is striking is that these DIY projects are so different from one another: truly unique and personal creative expressions. What is also of interest is that all of them are recycling something.

This picture does not do justice! You have to hop over to the site to see this spectacular party!! There were many complete wonderful Harry Potter-staged rooms and props, Harry Potter Games,  Harry Potter costumes, etc.  AMAZING PARTY. What a lucky kid: hail to the creative parents!!

2. Mammoth Log Party Cake Display

By One More Time

The folks at One More Time created an ‘involved’ party display made from a garden log. Not a tiny one, no a HUGE one. A super effort, but it left them with a re-usable, original and natural display, that can be used for many purposes.  (the picture shows a close-up of part of the display)

Project Made with Natural Recycled Materials: old garden log

3.  Burlap Cake

Never seen anything like it before. Have you? Beautiful. Would love to make something like this one day.

Project (could be) Made with Recycled Materials: round box.

4. Serving Tray with Vintage Decoupage

by Heaven’s Walk.

Rather original use for an old drawer, but more importantly, a très – beautiful decoupage project execution with French vintage images.  I think it is one of the most beautiful items entered in the party.

Project Made with Recycled Materials:  found old drawer.

5. Retro Succulent Planter

I am flabbergasted that Steph managed to make an ugly ’chip and dip’ thing into actually a very attractive succulent display that reminds  me of New Mexico.

Project Made with Recycled Materials:  60’s chip and dip bowls.
