I’ve been looking through bathroom designs for inspiration for our new to-be-built Italian country farm house. I find it all a bit daunting to get my mind around that I get to design every element of that house from scratch, so I need your help. I’d love you to comment on which bathroom you consider ‘best’ on functionality and attractiveness.

Wooden bathroom furniture, ceiling and tile flooring. clean, crisp, functional and romantic-enough.

Velvety bathroom tiles and copper mosaic shower floor with floor-to-ceiling clear glass shower doors. 10 out of 10 in elegance.

Romantic bathroom with maps

Funky bathroom design with maps around vanity.

My favorite designer bathroom: stone walls, wooden floors and ceilings, bay windows and a white tub.

Ditto: a favorite bathroom. I love the slate stone design around the bath tub and the wood paneling at the backsplash.

Shabby chic bathroom.

The ultimate spa bath experience.
Gorgeous way to soak up that view. (This rug kind of looks like the one we featured made out of recycled bath towels. Click here to learn how to make your own rugs.)

Mosaic bathroom floor swirling though long narrow bathroom.

Woodsy spa bath. Romantic bathroom lighting on the floor.

I’m sure you got the picture that I really want a bath and not just a shower…

(note: at Tumblr, there’s lots of questionable photography tagged with ‘bathroom’ (dare I say: por * n) that’s mingled in with designer bathroom ideas. So if you dare to go there, do so only when you don’t have a weak stomach and when there are no children around. )
