Today’s feature is a Free Apron Sewing Pattern. This apron is just perfect for those late summer days that you are doing plenty in the kitchen, making jams & marmalade, and perhaps freezing your produce from the garden.
Personally I am not too much into aprons, however, this one with funky retro fabric,… and ruffles, … and pockets, well, it’s just too cute to not share with you all.
It’s not to short, not too long, not too sexy, not too nerdy… just right! Kinda fun!

Difficulty level: EASY.
To make it even easier, leave the pockets and the ruffle off, but then, what’s the point?! Just try adding the extra details one by one. It is not so hard, when you don’t look up to the ‘total project’. And you’ll be so happy you did it, as those lovely embellishments really make the overall apron design great.
This would also make a great gift for Mother’s Day, a housewarming gift, or a birthday gift to a favorite aunt, sister or friend. Don’t think of aprons as only of use in the kitchen. If you are working in a shop, an apron can really finish off your professional look, and protect your skirt under it. Also, many of my artist friends use aprons for work. Hint: they’d probably like it if you were to make the pockets deeper…. As I know at least one of my friends uses her apron more like a tool belt!
