Angel Ornaments

Patti made two angel ornaments. One is a door ornament, which is almost as large as a vignette. And she made a matching Christmas angel ornament for her tree. I love both angel ornaments, so I’m featuring both!

How to Make Beautiful Angel Ornaments

1. Gather Your Crafting Supplies

Before we embark on our angelic journey, let’s assemble the necessary materials and tools:

  • Small wooden or foam spheres for the angel heads.
  • Soft, pastel-colored fabric for the angel bodies.
  • Glittery pipe cleaners for the wings.
  • Tiny wooden beads for the angel’s hands.
  • Craft glue, scissors, and a hot glue gun.

2. Crafting Angel Heads

Begin by creating the angel heads using the wooden or foam spheres. Paint them in a desired flesh tone and add facial features like eyes, a nose, and a mouth using a fine-tip marker or paint. Let your creativity guide you as you craft each unique angelic face.

3. Designing Angel Bodies

Cut out circles from the pastel fabric, making them slightly larger than the angel heads. Secure the fabric around each head, gathering and tying it at the neck to create the angel’s body. Trim any excess fabric for a neat appearance.

4. Crafting Wings with Glittery Elegance

Mold the glittery pipe cleaners into graceful arcs to form the angel’s wings. Attach the wings to the back of the angel’s body using craft glue. Experiment with different shapes and sizes to find the perfect fit for your celestial creation.

5. Adding Tiny Hands and a Heavenly Halo

Attach tiny wooden beads to the ends of the pipe cleaner arms, creating the angel’s hands. To symbolize the halo, use a wire or a small circular object wrapped with metallic pipe cleaner, affixing it gently above the angel’s head.

6. Personalize with Delightful Details

Enhance your angel ornaments with personal touches such as ribbons, sequins, or miniature charms. These additional elements will make each ornament truly unique and add to their charm.

7. Hanging Elegantly

To display your angel ornaments, attach a loop of string or ribbon to the top of each one. This will allow you to hang them on your Christmas tree, around the house, or wherever you’d like to showcase their celestial beauty.

Over to you

Crafting your own angel ornaments is a fulfilling and creative way to bring some ‘heavenly magic’ into your holiday festivities. Let’s embrace the divine spirit of the holiday season with these celestial ornaments, shall we?
